The Easy-Lam greenTM saves energy in two important ways:
The standby mode brings thermostat down from laminating temperature of 300°F to 150°F while machine is not being used resulting in an energy savings of over 50%. The warm-up time from 150°F back to laminating temperature of 300°F is only 7 minutes.
One hour auto shutoff shuts the machine down resulting in further energy savings when the machine is not in use.
