Martin Yale J1824 Padding Press 1 /Each

The Martin Yale J1824 Padding Press is an affordable and popular model among large and small print shops.  Designed for larger sheet sizes, the J1824 can hold sheets up to 19.75" H x 17.75" x W x 24" D.  This large table-top press holds stacks of paper evenly and firmly in place allowing the operator to concentrate on applying the padding compound (glue).  The all metal construction offers durability while the simple design makes the process easy enough for anyone to make pads.

The Martin Yale J1824 requires no assembly or tools.  The stack(s) of paper are placed on the table so that they are flush against the back panel.  A clamp plate is then place on top of the stack(s) and held down by wing screws that are firmly tightened by hand.  The back panel is removed exposing the edge to be glued.  The operator applies the appropriate padding compound using a padding brush.  Once the glue is dry to the touch, the stack is removed and if needed, a padding knife can be used to separate the stack into multiple pads.

When padding carbonless forms (ncr paper), a special padding compound, Fan-A-Part Padding Glue, is used.  

For regular papers, our standard fast dry or extra fast dry padding compounds can be used.
