It also prevents the sheets from jamming the hinge when the binder is closed. It can be used with any standard three-ring binders from 1" to 3" capacity. Lifters are recommended for bigger binders with more pages that need support in turning. Alternatively, the lifters can be used as dividers to hold sections nicely. D-ring binders need one lifter on top of contents while round ring binders need one lifter on top and one below the contents.
